Our route
WALKING TOUR THROUGH OLD PART OF OHRID
1st STOP
We start from the Upper Gate on the hill, the only one which is still sanding from the time of Tsar Samoil from the ending of X century to beginning of XI century and is one of the four gate which old city have in the past. From here we are going to the church St. Bogorodica Perivlepta from XIII century (entrance 2€) and Galery of icons (entrance 2€)
2nd STOP
Then we continue to the Ancient Theater (free entrance) dating back to the 1st to 3rd century B.C. The fortress of Tsar Samoil (entrance 1€) is our next point of interest, up on the hill, with a wonderful view of Lake Ohrid and the entire Riviera from the ancient ramparts.
From The fortress of Tsar Samoil , we are going trough beautiful nature to the Plaosnik, the St. Kliment University (entrance 2€), first university in Europe
4th STOP
After that we will enjoy in amazing and beautiful view to Ohrid lake from the most photographic church according National Geographic, St Jovan Kaneo (entrance 2€),
5th STOP
Through old house near the lake and to the bridge of wishes we are going to the museum of famous original Ohrid pearl (free entrance) and church St.Sofija (entrance 2€)
Continue to the house of Robeci family also known as an archeological museum of Ohrid (entrance 2€)
We are finishing our tour at the church St.Bogorodica Bolnicka and St.Nikola Bolnicki, which was the first quarantine in Europe in the middle century, and then we are going through old carsija where you have many bars, restaurants, exchange offices,boutiques, banks, drugstore, souvenir shops, gallery…Our final point of interest is the oldest tree in the Balkans - Ohrid Cinar (plane tree/platanus orientalis).
